Denmoza

Cactus

The name of this genus is an anagram of Mendoza, a city in Argentina. It includes only two species, although some authors include only one species in the genus. Very rustic, yet slow growing column-shaped plants. In their habitat, they can grow up to 2 metres. They have strong spines, which is why they are often confused, in cultivation, with Ferocactus. They bloom only when they reach an adequate size (a diameter of about 10cm).
