Corryocactus

Cactus

This genus was named after a Peruvian engineer, T. A. Corry, who aided early-day plant explorers with their expeditions. Native to Peru, Bolivia and Chile, these cacti have long ribbed stems producing orange, yellow and red flowers. Their globular and spiny fruits are characterised by a thirst-quenching edible pulp rich in vitamins.
